The P.L.A.Y. Education Corporation (PLAY Education) was created by Shannon Milliken, a former physical education teacher and mom, who through her professional and personal journey, desperately wanted to be a catalyst for educational systems change.  Her inspiration was her Asian-American daughter, who will grow up and identify as a woman of color.  As any caretaker, wanting what is best for children, is the most important work that we as a society, could ever do and ever invest in.

Celebrate Independence Day with Erie’s annual fireworks tradition. The July 3 Fireworks Show will launch from the rooftop of the Erie Community Center, lighting up the sky to kick of the holiday.

Presented by Piripi.

Schedule of Events: - 1 p.m.: Erie Community Center Campus ClosureIncludes closure of pickleball/tennis courts and all parking lots at the Erie Community Center and Erie Community Park.- 6 p.m.: Event Parking Begins- Dusk: Skate Park Closed. Please note: Lights will not be programmed for the evening.- 9 p.m.: Fireworks Show: Launched directly from the rooftop of the Erie Community Center. Show time approximate based on lighting and weather conditions.- 10 p.m.: Event Conclusion

Recurring throughout: Food trucks and vendors will be on-site throughout the event.

About Our Fireworks Display: Safety is our top priority! We partner with licensed pyrotechnicians and Mountain View Fire Rescue to deliver a professional fireworks experience responsibly. We use close-proximity fireworks specially designed for tighter settings like our Erie Community Center campus. This means a smaller fallout area, reduced debris drift, and tighter fire mitigation controls, making it the right choice during Colorado's dry summer season and ongoing drought conditions. And don't worry - you'll still get all the magic: bright colors, aerial bursts, glitter effects, strobes, crackles, and synchronized music!
